Cookie Time

Sometimes the post-dinner/pre-bedtime phase is a little hard for me. There isn't enough time to go somewhere or do anything major. However, it is too much time to start the bedtime routine right away. Awhile back I found the perfect solution while shopping the refrigerated section of Albertsons. Pre-made cookie dough! They have packages with small cookies that are perfect to make with a 2 year old. It's a perfect time filler and we both enjoy a warm tasty treat! We don't do it every day but it has been the perfect fill in when needed.

Kenley reading the directions. This particular day we had been out in the rain so she wanted to take her pants off. However, she then decided she wanted to put her heels on over her socks. She was prancing around with all the confidence in the world. This girl sure keeps me laughing! This picture also cracks me up because she stands like this a lot (belly and bum sticking far out in their designated direction).

Spreading out the chunks of cookie dough. Note: This was before we had unpacked our kitchen so we were using sheets of aluminum foil for our cookie sheets.

This is a MAJOR test of patience for a 2 year old!

Enjoying the final reward. It is possible that I eat a high percentage of these (as well as a couple before they are baked).

This is just included as evidence of Kenley prancing around the house in her stylish outfit.

She's on to something with that pantless heeled look. In fact I think Christina Aguilera just tried it recently (clearly without the same success as Kenley). Anyway, with homework and sports and showers and tests to study for that down time between dinner and bed is a thing of the past around here. Enjoy it while you can!!!!

Mike - I just saw your comment on our blog about your barnstorming tour of Holland in 2008. That's really cool! We should have come up from Stuttgart to meet. The (civilized) rest of Europe is a lot farther away now - but we try to get over there for trips like this now and then. Kenley's a doll, especially in the heels. I like the kiwi towels. We read through all the blog posts on your trip that direction. Very inspiring. The Al foil is very resourceful!

Sounds like the perfect way to end the day! If only my waistline would allow it!
